In crabbers, beam trawlers and day boats operating hand lines, generations of Newlyn fishermen have landed catches to sustain local families for more than 500 years.
Today, in our newly-refurbished and fully-refrigerated Fish Market, merchants can auction up to 40 different species each day – from mackerel to hake, megrim to cuttlefish, turbot to crab – at one of our 49 landing stations.
The superlative quality of Cornish fish is so revered that Newlyn’s catch is supplied to many of the UK’s most reputable chefs.
As well as supporting our resident fleet with modern, fit-for-purpose infrastructure and services, we welcome visiting fishing vessels to Newlyn Harbour too.
